Minneapolis Event Centers Wedding | Alex + Abby Married! | Post by TK Sloane

The first time I met Alex, he rolled up on the dance floor at his sister’s wedding in a satin tiger-print tracksuit. Naturally, his dance moves were equally fierce! I was thrilled when he and Abby reached out about photographing their Minneapolis Event Centers wedding a couple years later.

The nearby charm of the Stone Arch Bridge and views of the Minneapolis skyline were what drew Alex and Abby to host their wedding at Minneapolis Event Centers’ Grand 1858 Venue. The ceremony took place outside in the garden area, surrounded by romantic, ivy-covered iron gates & classic Minneapolis brickwork. We wandered around Saint Anthony Main for portraits and were graced with the most delicious, golden autumn light. Abby’s newborn twin nice and nephew might have stolen the show during family portraits, and I will never forget the magnitude of pride and joy illuminating Alex’s parents’ faces thoughout the event. After a series of heartfelt toasts, the DJ kept the dance floor packed until well after the last cupcake had been devoured.

My favorite moments of the day included Abby’s tennis shoes, an homage to her love for fitness and impressive knowledge of sports stats; Alex and Abby refusing to kiss during dinner unless wedding guests stood up & sang them songs featuring the word “love” (a challenge which was heartily and hilariously accepted), and of course, getting to see Alex’s dance moves in full swing again (his sister joked that she wished she’d brought a tiger suit!) A memorable time was had by all, and I could not be more grateful to have been part of the celebration.

Cheers to the Jings!
